NOMA Central Texas and AIA San Antonio invite you to join us for a Diversity Picnic!

WHERE: Breckenridge Park @ Koehler Pavilion, 3700 N St Mary's St, San Antonio

WHEN: April 12th 10 AM - 2 PM

Gather the kids and join us for an AEC family picnic! Sample bites of diverse culinary delights, or bring a dish that reflects your unique culture. Engaging activities led by architects awaits, ensuring the kids have a joyous time filled with fun and learning.

Empower Design Symposium Act II

The Central Texas Chapter of The National Organization of Minority Architects presents the second annual Empower Design Symposium Act II on February 15th, 2025.

This year’s Symposium will take place in Austin, Texas and will highlight engaging short format presentations (20-30 minutes) around topics on Architecture, Design, Advocacy, and Justice (a link to our expanded Topic descriptions is below).

Participate in NOMA Central Texas’ Dream Week Event: Mind Your Neighbor: A gamified exchange of community needs and relationship building.

WHEN: January 23, 2025 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

WHERE: Overland Partners, 203 E Jones Ave #104, San Antonio, TX (Parking Map HERE)

This is a FREE and family-friendly event! All ages are welcome to attend. Feel free to attend for as long as you can!

Mind your Neighbor is a board game with the primary purpose of introducing the functional needs of the built environment to intergenerational groups while providing a window into the design of communities and the related constraints. In keeping with DWSA 2025 theme of “We are Neighbor” this Dream Week event will also use the broad building blocks of the game to introduce and facilitate specific topics of conversation centered around community, advocacy, and equitable design practices in San Antonio and beyond.

Black Resilience Bike Tour

Register for the Black Resilience Bike Tour!

Brought to you by NOMA of Central Texas & The Guide to Austin Architecture in partnership w/ Black Austin Tours.

Date: Saturday, September 7th, 2024 @ 8:00 AM (arrive early for coffee & snacks!)

Location: George Washington Carver Museum (1165 Angelina St, Austin, TX 78702)

Route will consist of 9 stops, covering roughly 5 miles in East and Central Austin. All skill levels welcome! If you need a bike, please let us know. We hope to make this event accessible for all who want to join.
